The Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees Sunday night, April 10th, 4-3 to pick up their 1st win of the season.

Bobby Dalbec broke the 3-3 tie with his 1st homer of the season in the 6th inning to score the winning run

For the 3rd consecutive game Boston started the scoring with 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning.

JD Martinez had a double driving in a run

Christian Arroyo making his 1st start of the season drove in Xander Bogaerts with a sacrifice fly

Jonathan Arauz starting at 2nd base in place of Trevor Storey had a sacrifice fly, driving in Christian Arroyo in the 3rd inning. Storey was unavailable to play because of "flu-like" symptoms

Tanner Houck started for Boston and lasted just 3.1 innings. He allowed 6 hits and 3 runs, walking 3 and striking out 3.

Ryan Brasier came on in the 4th inning and allowed 2 runs to score, which were charged to Houck.

Kutter Crawford picked up the win, his 1st as a Red Sox player, going 2 innings, striking out 3.

Matt Strahm pitched the 7th inning for Boston, and didn't allow a hit. Hansel Robles came on in the 8th and didn't allow a hit either.

Jake Diekman came on in the 9th inning, striking out Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Joey Gallo, the 3-4-5 batters for his 1st save of the season and sealed the deal for the win

The Red Sox are now 1-2 and open a 3-game series in Detroit Monday night, with the pregame starting at 4:10 p.m. and 1st pitch at 5:10 p.m. Michael Wacha will make his 1st start for the Red Sox. Hear the game on AM 1370 WDEA.

The Yankees are 2-1 and open a series with the Toronto Blue Jays at home Monday night.
