The Boston Red Sox beat the Miami Marlins 8-3 on Tuesday evening, in Florida, to start their 6-game road trip.

Kutter Crawford started for the Red Sox and went 6.0 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 run. He struck out 7 and didn't walk a batter.

At the plate Ceddanne Rafaela hit a 3-run home run, his 9th of the season in the 4th inning.

Jarren Duran hit his 10th home run of the season, a solo shot in the 8th inning.

Masataka Yoshida had 3 hits.

Tyler O'Neill and Rafael Devers each had a pair of singles. Wilyer Abreu hit his 17th double of the season and Dominic Smith hit his 8th double.

The Red Sox had 13 hits in the game.

Boston is now 45-39 and are a 1/2 game out of the Wild Card playoffs.

Boston and Miami will play the 2nd game of the 3-game series Wednesday night. The pregame starts at 5:40 p.m with the 1st pitch at 6:40 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA.
