The Boston Red Sox won their 6th games in a row, and 1st in the post-Devers Era, beating the Seattle Mariners 2-0 on the West Coast Monday night.

Roman Anthony, batting 3rd, hit his 1st career home run in the top of the 1st inning. He finished the night 1-4.

The game was a pitcher's duel.

Lucas Giolito was sharp for the Red Sox. He picked up the win, and is 3-1 on the season. He went 6.0 innings allowing just 3 hits, striking out 10 and walked just 1.

Justin Wilson pitched the 7th inning, allowing a hit, a walk, and striking out 1. Greg Weissert pitched the 8th inning, walking 2 and striking out 1. Aroldis Chapman struck out the side in the 8th inning for his 13th save of the season.

Jarren Duran had a triple, his 8th of the season.

Abraham Toro was 1-3, driving in Duran, with a 2-out RBI. Kristian Campbell also had a single.

Boston is now 8-2 in their last 10 games, and are 5.5 games out of 1st place in the AL East. They would be the 3rd Wild Card Team if the playoffs were to start today.

Boston and Seattle will play the middle game of the 3-game series Tuesday night, with the pregame starting at 8:40 p.m. and 1st pitch at 9:40 on WDEA AM 1370.
