The Boston Red Sox beat the San Francisco Giants in the finale of the 3 game series 5-4, as Eduardo Rodriguez won his 18th game of the season.

E-Rod threw 6 innings allowing just 2 hits. He struck out 10 and walked 2. He gave up 1 run.

The bullpen made it interesting, as the Giants scored 2 runs in the 8th inning and 1 in the 9th inning. Matt Barnes got the final out in the 8th with the bases loaded and Brandon Workman allowed 1 run in the 9th before getting the final out, again with the bases loaded.

The Red Sox had 10 hits with the top 4 of the batting order, Andrew Benintendi, Christian Vazquez, Rafael Devers and Xander Bogaerts each having 2 hits. Benintendi, Brock Holt and Chris Owings each had a double.

The Red Sox jet off to St. Petersburg, Florida, to take on the Tampa Bay Rays in a 4 game series starting on Friday, September 20th .Rick Porcello is scheduled to pitch for Boston.
