Mookie Betts was 2-4 with a single and 9th inning double. Hanley Ramirez and Marco Hernandez each had a single for the other Red Sox hits.
The Red Sox were without Dustin Pedroia who missed his 4th consecutive game after getting spiked and injured last Saturday, against the Baltimore Orioles. He's considered day to day.
The Red Sox scored their lone run in the 9th inning when Andrew Benintendi walked and went to 3rd on Betts double. Chris Young batted for Mitch Moreland and hit into a fielder's choice driving in Benintendi, with Betts going to 3rd. Hanley Ramirez walked putting the tieing run on 1st, but Jackie Bradley Jr. struck out and Josh Rutledge struck out after a long at bat and the game was over.
