Red Sox 2-Hit by Blue Jays Lose 2-0

The Boston Red Sox were 2-hit by the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday, August 29th losing 2-0 at Fenway Park.

Nick Sogard, recalled from Triple A Worcester when David Hamilton was placed on the 10-day injured list had a single in the 6th inning.

Danny Jansen had Boston's other hit with a single in the 8th inning.

Kutter Crawford went 6.2 innings for Boston, allowing 6 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 3 and walked 2.

Rich Hill, made his Red Sox debut. Wearing number 44 (his age) he went 1.1 innings, striking out 2. He became the only player to appear in at least 1 major league game in each of the last 20 seasons!  He also joined Tim Wakefield, Carl Yastrzemski and Deacon McGuire as the only players to have played for the Red Sox at the age of 44 or older.

Boston is now 3.5 games out of the 3rd Wild Card spot, with 28 games to go.
