Just when you thought the Boston Red Sox were starting to crank on all cylinders, they placed David Price on the 10 Day Injured List, with elbow tendinitis, retroactive to May 3rd.

To fill Price's spot on the roster, the Red Sox have called up righty Ryan Weber from Triple A Pawtucket. Weber will wear number 65.

Weber  is in his 11th professional season since being selected by the Braves in the 2009 June Draft. Acquired by Boston as a minor league free agent in December 2018, the right-hander has made 24 major league appearances (eight starts) with the Braves (2015-16), Mariners (2017), and Rays (2018), going 1-5 with a 5.01 ERA (41 ER/73.2 IP) and an average of only 1.59 walks per 9.0 innings. He is 1-1 with a 5.04 ERA (14 ER/25.0 IP) in five starts with Pawtucket this season, most recently pitching on May 2 at Buffalo.

Price has gone 1-2 with a 3.75 ERA (15 ER/36.0 IP) in six starts for the Red Sox this season. He has allowed three runs or fewer in each of his last four outings, posting a 2.63 ERA (7 ER/24.0 IP) in that time

The Red Sox take on Baltimore Monday night, May 6th in the start of a 3 game series. You can hear the pregame starting at 6:05 and 1st pitch at 7:05 on AM 1370 WDEA in the Ellsworth and Bar Harbor area and The Rock 101.9 FM, WOZI in Presque Isle.
