How MDI Hospital's Walking Program Encourages Community Fitness

MDI Hospital's walking program is designed for pleasure or fitness. The goal of the program is to offer a sale and enjoyable activity for everyone. MDI Hospital reminds you that if you are not currently exercising you should consult with your health care provider before starting any exercise program.

The walks begin at 8 a.m... In case of inclement weather, cancellations will be determined by 7:00 a.m. and program participants will be notified via email.

Remember to wear appropriate shoes, dress in layers and you may wish to bring water, snacks, bug-spray and a camera.

Here are the scheduled walks.

Wednesday, July 2nd - Eagle Lake towards Bubble Pond. Meet at the Eagle Lake Parking Area, out and back for 4.2 miles
Monday, July 7th - Great Head to Thunder Hole. Park in the Great Head parking area (at the end of the Schooner Head Road on the left) out and back for 4.0 miles
Wednesday, July 9th - Wooded Loop. Meet in the upper, overflow parking lot for the Jordan Pond House. 3.5 miles
Monday, July 14th - Witch Hole Pond. Meet at Duck Brook Bridge Parking area. 3.4 miles.
Wednesday, July 16th - NEW! Fernald Point Road. Meet int he parking lot just behind the building at 1 Fernald Point Road, Southwest Harbor. Out and back for 3.0 miles
Monday, July 21st - Hadlock Brook Loop. Meet at the Brown Mountain Gatehouse parking area, Route 198 just before Northeast Harbor. 3.9 miles
Wednesday, July 23rd - Amphitheatre Loop. Park in the lot just north of Brown Mountain Gate House (One mile North of Northeast Harbor on Route 198.) 5.2 miles
Monday, July 28th - Wooded Loop. Meet in the upper, overflow parking lot for the Jordan Pond House. 3.5 miles
Wednesday, July 30th - Jordan Stream. Park in the upper overflow lot of the Jordan Pond House. Four bridges on this Carriage Road loop! 4.0 miles.
