Open Table MDI Reopens Tuesday January 20

Open Table MDI will reopen on Tuesday, January 20th  for a community supper at it's location at  116 Cottage Street in Bar Harbor. Guests are invited to this free community supper to eat, connect and celebrate from 4 to 7 pm. There will be live music by Rowan Fraley.

Although free, donations are gratefully accepted. Volunteers are essential to Open Table MDI's success and are needed with the food preparation, serving and cleanup each week. Open Table MDI has hired D Laniga as their new Lead Chef and Community Coordinator. With years of experience cooking for community pop ups, large dinners and volunteer programs she brings a joyful, inclusive approach to the kitchen She says "I love the challenge of making food that works for everyone. Food should make people feel cared for and at home."

Mahandeva Singh, the long-time Head Chef and Executive Director of Open Table MDI stepped down from his kitchen role in August to focus on his health. He continues to serve as Executive Director, supporting the organization behind the scenes.

Open Table MDI's mission is to inspire strong, loving and inclusive communities by bringing people together to share in nourishing food. The organization helps to alleviate hunger by feeding individuals and families on Mount Desert Island and beyond through their free weekly Tuesday night suppers.
