Prior to COVID, Open Table MDI had expanded into Southwest Harbor offering free meals. Beginning on May, 5th, they are beginning a pilot program and will be serving free meals on Tuesday nights, from 5:30 to 7:30 at St. John's Episcopal Church, at 315 Main Street in Southwest Harbor.

The pilot program is planned to run on May 5, May 12, May 19 and May 26th. All are welcome to attend, there is no cost and no sign-up necessary.

D Laninga who is Open Table MDI's Head Chef and who live in Southwest Harbor said "I love the Quietside's culture of community care. We hope to complement what makes this community special by creating another place for people to come together and share healthy, home-cooked meals"

Pamela Hattem, the Senior Warden at St. John's said " Good neighbors share resources and open their doors to the community. We're thrilled to host Open Table MDI on the Quietside and to share community suppers with our neighbors."

Mahandeva Singh, cofounder and Executive Director of Open Table MDI said "Bringing our community table to the Quietside has been a long-held intention of Open Table MDI and this pilot program brings us one step closer to fulfilling that dream. With D at the helm, our board by her side and the generosity of St. John's Church, Southwest Harbor will soon have a new place where neighbors gather, share a meal and know they are not alone."
