One Person is Dead After House Fire in Perry

A man is dead after fire destroyed a house in Perry over the weekend.

One person was recovered from the fire on the Golding Road, that was reported at about 6:00 Sunday morning. Fire officials told WABI-TV they believe the victim is 32-year-old Bradford Preston Jr., who lived in the home with two other people. The other two residents were not home when the fire broke out. More testing will be needed to confirm the man's identity, but officials say he died of smoke inhalation.

Investigators are now working to determine what sparked the blaze, but authorities say it started in the ceiling.
