Ellsworth Girls Fall to Old Town 54-44 in Overtime [STATS]

The Ellsworth Girl's Basketball Team lost to Old Town 54-44 in overtime in Mackenzie Gymnasium in Old Town on Monday, January 12th.

Ellsworth had a chance to win the game after Old Town's Emma Ketch tied it at 42-22 with 8 seconds left to play. The Eagles were able to bring the ball up the court and Sydney Mason took a shot from the left baseline to win it but the ball bounced out of the net. Kaylee Bagley scooped up the rebound and put the ball in the net, but the referees ruled that time had expired.

Old Town led 8-7 after the end of the 1st Quarter and 24-18 at the end of the 1st Half. The Coyotes led 33-27 at the end of the 3rd Quarter but Ellsworth tied it in the 4th Quarter, outscoring Old Town 15-9 as Cam Clough had 8 points, including 2 3's. In the overtime Old Town outscored Ellsworth 12-2.

Ellsworth was led by Sydney Mason with 10 points including a 3-pointer. Allie Bivins had 9 points, including going 5-6 from the free throw line. Clough, Austyn Atherton and Lizze Boles each had a 3-pointer. The Eagles were 9-12 from the free throw line.

Old Town had 4 players in double figures. Emma Ketch had 14 points. Karina Dumond had 12 points and Taylor Madden and Taylor Loring each had 10 points with a 3-pointer. The Coyotes were 12 -20 from the free throw line.

Old Town is now 9-2, and in 1st place in the Class B North Heal Point Standings. They will play at Hermon on Saturday, January 17th at 3 p.m.

Ellsworth is now 7-4 and in 4th place in the Class B North Heal Point Standings. They will play at MDI on Wednesday, January 14th at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device with the pregame starting at 6:40 p.m.
