Old Town Boys Rally to Beat Ellsworth 61-59 [STATS]

The Old Town Boy's Basketball picked up their 1st win, handing Ellsworth their 1st loss of the season, 61-59 at Mackenzie Gymnasium in Old Town on Tuesday, December 17th.

Ellsworth led 21-14 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 39-30 at the end of the 1st Half. But Old Town outscored Ellsworth 18-11 in the 3rd Quarter, as Ellsworth led by 2 points, 50-48 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Old Town took the lead with 3-plus minutes left, and held on to beat the Eagles 61-59.

Old Town was led by Emmitt Byther who had a game-high 26 points. Tyler Priest had 12 points and Brady Paradis had 11 points. The Coyotes had 4 3-pointers, 2 by Pries, and 1 each by Byther and Jack DeGrasse. Old Town was 13-22 from the free  throw line, including going 5-9 in the 4th Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Hollis Grindal with 19 points. Brayden King had 15 points. The Eagles hit 5 3-pointers. King, and Dawson Curtis each had 2 3-pointers, and Byrce Hart had 1 3-pointer. Ellsworth was 8-13 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 3-1 They will host Caribou on Friday, December 20th at 7:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast on the Ellsworth High School HUDL site

Old Town is now 1-3. They will play at Foxcroft Academy on Friday, December 20th at 7 p.m.
