After getting back onto the ice, the deer was slipping and sliding.

Luckily members of the Southwest Harbor Fire and Police Departments were there and had practiced cold water rescue and were geared up and ready to go out onto the ice and try and rescue the deer

Don't worry... There's a happy ending because the deer was able to reach the shoreline climbing up the steep slope into the trees -- and safety.
