Next Step Domestic Violence Project Open for Calls 24/7
Because of the COVID-19 Virus, the Next Step Resource's in Ellsworth and Machias are closed to the project, but they're carrying on with their mission to put an end to domestic violence.
Staff and volunteers are available 24-7 to take your calls and help those affected by domestic violence. Their crisis hotline is available by calling 1-800-315-5579.
Dorathy Martel, the Executive Director told WABI "We recognize that many people are facing increased isolation, economic challenges and increased danger if they are co-habitating with an abuser who is home from work due to business closures. Speaking to a NextStep advocate when it is safe to do so can help reduce isolation, and we can help with safety plans that take the current situation into account."
