Neighbors helping Neighbors Stay Warm. That's the motto for the new MDI Community Wood Bank. Modeled after the Downeast Wood Bank, which serves the towns of Blue Hill, Brooklin, Surry, Sedgwick, Trenton, Lamoine and City of Ellsworth, the MDI Community Wood Bank will serve Mount Desert Island.

Donations to the MDI Community Wood Bank of hardwood logs and rounds will be accepted in the near future. Cash/check donations may be made out to "MDI Community Wood" will soon be accepted at Machias Savings Bank in Bar Harbor. A Venmo Account is being set up! They may also be accepted by Andrew Flanagan, Linda Lunt, Barbara Baron Gifford and Chad Kessel.

There will be a need for donations of labor, equipment, and supplies in the near future.
