A woman from Washington County has been arrested on drug charges after authorities say they seized a significant amount of drugs from her home.

Lisa Malone, 65, was taken into custody Tuesday morning after members of Maine's Drug Enforcement Agency, along with the Baileyville Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office and US Border Patrol executed a search warrant on Malone's home on Oxford St. in Baileyville.

According to Maine Public Safety Department Spokesperson Shannon Moss, there have been many folks working together to get these drugs off the streets of Washington County.

"Early last month, investigators assigned to MDEA’s Down East Task Force covering Washington and Hancock Counties opened an investigation into the suspected trafficking of fentanyl from a Baileyville home. Seized during the search was approximately 127 grams of suspected fentanyl with a Washington County street value of over $25,000. In addition, approximately $1400 in suspected drug proceeds was confiscated."

Multiple law enforcement agencies have been working together on this case, which included the alleged undercover purchase of fentanyl from Monroe's home located.

Lisa Malone was charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl).

Authorities say Malone was transported to the Washington County Jail where her bail was set at $25,000.

Earlier this week, Maine DEA Agents made another big bust, recovering $225,000 dollars worth of the drug from four other individuals.
