The Boston Red Sox exploded for 17 runs on Saturday, beating the Baltimore Orioles 17-1, with 10 runs in the top of the 9th inning led by Andru Monasterio's grand slam.

Garrett Crochet returned to form after 2 lousy starts, picking up the win and evening his record at 3-3. He went 6.0 innings allowing just 3 hits and no runs. He struck out 8 and walked 2 lowering his ERA to 6.30.

Monasterio was 3-6 with a double and the grand slam, driving in 4 runs.

Ceddanne Rafaela was 3-5 with a triple and drove in a run.

Willson Contreras was 2-4 hitting his 5th home run of the season, a 3-run shot in the 9th inning. He finished with 5 runs batted in on the afternoon

Caleb Durbin was 2-4 with a double and 2-run homer in the 9th inning, his 1st of the season. He finished with 3 runs driven in.

Connor Wong was 1-3 with a bases-loaded double, driving in 3 runs.

Wilyer Abreu and Isiah Kiner-Falefa each had 2 hits on the afternoon. Trevor Story and Jarren Duran each had a single.
