MDI’s Derek Collin Commits to Husson

MDI's Derek Collin has committed to Husson University and will play basketball for the Eagles beginning in the 2019-20 season and be a member of the Class of 2023.

Husson University Basketball Coach Warren Caruso said of Collin "Derek had a great senior season.  He plays with toughness and grit. We really like how hard Derek competes and his willingness to be coached. These traits will help him transition to the college game quickly."

Collin finished the 2018-19 season averaging 17.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, shooting 63.8 percent from the free throw line. He was the Big East Player of the Year and named to the 1st Team All Conference Team. He was also the named to the PVC All-Academic Team and won the PVC Scholar Athlete Award.

He is planning on majoring in  Accounting/Financial Management.
