MDI Volleyball Outlasts Ellsworth 3-2

The MDI Volleyball Team outlasted Ellsworth, winning 3-2 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth on Friday, October 17th. The individual set scores were 14-25, 25-22, 14-25, 25-20 and 15-4.

Individual MDI Standouts included:

• Cora VanDongen: 19 kills, 9 digs, 1 block
• Ella Watson: 5 kills, 5 aces, 2 assists, 13 Digs
• Janiece Anderson: 10 kills, 1 ace, 11 digs
• Thalia Thomas: 27 assists, 19 digs
• Grace Sinclair: 1 ace, 23 digs, 3 assists

Individual Ellsworth Standouts included

• Sophie Beal: 4 aces, 14 kills, 5 blocks, 16 digs
• Caitlin Jenkins: 1 ace, 3 kills, 4 blocks, 2 assists, 13 digs
• Lauren Young: 8 kills, 2 assists, 11 digs
• Austyn Atherton: 3 aces, 8 kills, 1 assist, 15 digs
• Sophie Harmon: 2 aces, 14 assists, 8 digs
• Jordin Mann: 2 aces, 11 assists, 9 digs

Ellsworth finishes the season at 7-7. MDI finishes the regular season at 7-7.  Both teams will host playoff games,  The regular season's last countable game is on Monday, October 20th with prelims beginning on Wednesday, October 22nd and Quarterfinals on Friday, October 24th and Saturday, October 25th.

The Ellsworth JV squad defeated MDI 3-0 Individual set scores were 25-18, 25-13 and 15-4.

MDI Individual Standouts included:

• Shriya Muthukumar: 3 kills, 2 aces Madie Watkins: 2 aces, 3 assists, 4 digs
• Jovanika Eloi: 1 aces, 6 digs, 1 block assist

The Ellsworth First Team won 3-0 with individual set scores 25-16, 25-8 and 15-7.

Individual MDI Standouts included

•  Izzy Bowden: 1 kill, 2 aces, 1 dig
• Trinity Foss-Brown: 1 kill, 4 digs
• Emelia Starling: 1 kill, 1 assist, 2 digs
