The MDI Volleyball Team traveled to southern Maine Friday night for a pair of matches against Cape Elizabeth on Friday, and then against Westbrook on Saturday, September 14th. The Trojans lost Friday night in 3 sets, 25-5, 25-16, 25-10, before rebounding and beating Westbrook in straight sets 25-15, 25-8, 25-10.

According to Coach Corey

"Friday night was tough.  We knew Cape was going to be good but we struggled mentally to stay in the game.  We played ourselves into a lot of tough spots and they did not make many mistakes.  It was a good learning experience for the team and the importance or working on mental toughness in practice, which we will be focusing on next week.  Saturday turned out better, though we got off to a slow start in set one.  With the game tied 14 all, I challenged the girls to play more cohesively and push themselves every point.  They rose up to the challenge and finished strong.  The trip overall was a good team bonding experience and establish for us the things we need to work on to be successful in October."
