MDI Volleyball Falls to Greely 3-1

The MDI Trojans Volleyball Team fell to Greely 3-1 on Thursday in a Class B Prelim game on the road. The individual set scores were 25-13, 10-25, 25-19, 25-15

MDI stat leaders included:

Hailey Vogell: 1 ace, 6 kills, 1 block, 3 digs
Lexi Tozier: 3 aces, 4 kills, 1 block, 7 digs
Lauren Davis: 1 ace, 5 kills, 4 digs
Denali Wagstaff: 1 ace, 6 kills, 1 block, 4 assists, 1 dig
Sharyn Lipski: 11 assists, 4 digs

According to Coach Corey

It was a tough loss to close out the season. The team started off slowly but came out firing in the second set. We seemed to turn the corner. Unfortunately, it was a hard fought battle from there on and we couldn’t quite pull it out. The team worked hard all season, one of my favorite teams to coach, and I wish it had ended better for them. We’ll miss our seniors but look forward to getting back in the gym with our returning players next year.
