MDI Trojans Softball Team Defeats Foxcroft Academy 6-3

The MDI Softball Team traveled to Foxcroft Academy, coming back to the Island with a 6-3 win over the Foxcroft Academy Ponies on Friday, May 29th.

Ella Watson pitched a complete game for the Trojans to earn the win. She allowed 8 hits and 3 runs, 1 of which was earned. She struck out 5 and didn't walk a batter.

Cate Brown was 2-4 with a pair of doubles, driving in a run. Grace Hodgdon was 2-3 with a pair of doubles and drove in a run. Avery Norwood was 2-3 with a double.

The Trojans swiped 5 bases with Addy Dowsland, Norwood, Brown, Hodgdon and Melodie Jacobs each stealing a bag.

Lili Bisson took the loss for the Ponies. She pitched a complete game, allowing 6hits and 6 runs, 3 of which were earned. She struck out 6 and walked 4.

Addison Menz was 2-4 for the Ponies. Bisson helped herself at the plate going 2-3 and driving in a run. Payson Hall had a triple. Jenna Hartford and Ava Turner each singled.

Menz had a stolen base for Foxcroft Academy.

MDI is now 7-6. They have 2 regular season games left. They play at home against Bucksport on Monday, June 1st at 4:30 p.m and then close out the regular season on Tuesday, June 2nd at Ellsworth at 4:30 p.m.

Foxcroft Academy is 2-13. They close out the regular season on Tuesday, June 2nd at John Bapst at 5 p.m.
