The MDI Trojans picked up their 1st win of the season, beating the Old Town Coyotes 7-5 on Wednesday April 29th in Old Town. Preston Tripp pitched a complete game for the win.

Tripp helped himself at the plate, going 3-3 and driving in 3 runs, including a home run over the right field fence. On the mound he struck out 8, walked 2 and allowed 10 hits and 5 runs.

Colin Sullivan was 2-3 with a double. Mason Lapointe had a double and drove in a run. Cameron Graham, Alister Frongillo and Spencer Grierson each singled for the Trojans.

MDI ran wildly on the basepaths, with 11 stolen bases. Tripp led the way with 3 stolen bases and Frongillo and Sullivan each had 2 stolen bases. Graham, Garrett Umphrey and Lapointe each had 1 stolen base.

Ethan Closson started on the hill for the Coyotes He went 4.0 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 runs, striking out 7 and walking 4. Jackson McPherson took the loss He allowed 1 hits and 2 runs, walking 1, and didn't record an out. Cayden Campagna closed out the game, pitching the final 3 innings and allowing 3 hits and 1 run. He struck out 3.

Tyler Priest was 2-3 with a double and run batted in for Old Town. Alex Bean was 2-4. Campagna had a double and drove in 2 runs. Closson, Julian Duty, Jackson Brawn, Michael Carroll and Connor Downs each had a single.

MDI is now 1-2 and is set to host Presque Isle in a doubleheader on Saturday, May 2nd.

Old Town is 3-1. They are set to play at John Bapst on Saturday, May 2nd at 2 p.m.
