MDI Softball Sweeps Presque Isle 6-1 and 14-13 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Trojans Softball Team swept Presque Isle, Saturday afternoon April 24th, winning the 1st game 6-1 and then 14-13 in game 2.

In Game 1 Addy Boyce went the distance striking out 10. She walked just 1 and threw a no-hitter. Only 4 Wildcats reached base, 3 via errors, and 1 via a walk

Mollie Gray in her 1st varsity at bat blasted a home run.

Lily James, Sophia Thurston and Addy Boyce had 2 singles each.  Leah Carroll, Grace Horner, Soren Hopkins-Goff and Sadie Sullivan each had a single.

Game 2 was a back and forth affair. MDI led 3-2 at the end of the 1st inning and 8-3 at the end of the 2nd inning. It was 11-4 at the end of the 3rd inning. But Presque Isle cut into the lead and it was 11-7 at the end of the 4th inning and 13-9 at the end of the 5th inning. It was 14-11 at the end of the 6th inning and Presque Isle climbed within 1 run, scoring 2 runs in the top of the 7th but it wasn't enough.

For MDI Leah Carroll had a home run. Addy Boyce had a double and single. Mollie Gray and Grace Parker each had a double.

Lily James, Bailey Goodlell, Sadie Sullivan, Kaya Gray and Soren Hopkins-Goff each singled.

MDI 1-0 will play the Bucksport Golden Bucks Wednesday afternoon, April 28th at 4:30 p.m. in Bar Harbor.
