MDI Softball Rallies to Beat John Bapst 6-5 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Trojans rallied to beat John Bapst 6-5 in Bar Harbor, Saturday, May 12th, to conclude a week where they played 5 games in 6 days and went 4-1 during the week!

The Trojans led 2-0 at the end of the 1st inning but John Bpast scored 2 in the top of the 4th and then 3 in the top of the 6th to take a 5-2 lead. But the Trojans fought back scoring 4 in the bottom of the 6th and then stifled a Crusader rally in the top of the 7th to preserve the win.

Lindsey McEachern pitched a complete game for MDI, for the win, allowing just 4 hits. The Crusader's 5 runs were all unearned. McEachern struck out 7 and walked 1.

Kayla Massey took the loss for John Bapst. She gave up 6 hits and struck out 10. She walked 3 and of the 6 runs, 3 were earned.

Maddie Neale was 2-3 for MDI. Mackenzie Dyer had a double. Madison Thornton, Emily York and Maddie Jones all singled for the Trojans. Neale had a stolen base.

For the Crusaders Lacey Scanlon had a double. Halliie Rockress, Massey and Olivia Harriman each singled. Emilee Soucie and Rockress had a stolen base.

MDI, now 6-4 plays at Belfast on Tuesday, May 15th at 4PM.

John Bapst, 3-5 plays host to Foxcroft Academy on Tuesday, May 15th at 4:30 PM.
