MDI Softball No Hit By Old Town
The MDI Softball Team was no-hit by Old Town on Friday afternoon, June 2nd, losing the final regular season game in Old Town, on Senior Day, 12-0.
McKenna Smith was lights out in the circle for Old Town, striking out 14, and walking just 1 in 5 innings. MDI's lone baserunner was Hannah Chamberlain who walked.
Emily York pitched for MDI, allowing 11 hits, 7 earned runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1.
Morgan Love was 3-3 with a triple and 2 singles for Old Town. Jasmine Smith, Lauren Gasaway, Janessa Brown and Mckenna Smith each had a double. Olivia Albert, and Janessa Brown, and Hannah Sibley each had a single.
MDI finishes the regular season with a 5-11 record,and will be the 11th seed. The Trojans will play at Foxcroft Academy in a prelim game. The Ponies are the 6th seed and are 12-4.
Old Town finishes the season with a 14-2 round, and the 2nd seed. They will have a bye in the prelim round.
