The #14 MDI Trojans traveled to Rockland and nearly pulled off an upset for the ages, but fell to the #3 Oceanside Mariners 1-0 in a Class B North Prelim Softball Game, ending the Trojan's season.

Lindsey McEachern was the tough luck losing pitcher for MDI. She allowed just 4 hits, and 1 unearned run. She struck out 11 and didn't walk a batter.

Oceanside's lone run came in the bottom of the 1st inning.

The Trojans only managed 3 hits off of Oceanside's Chloe Jones. Jones struck out 11 and walked 1. MDI's hits came off the bats of Hannah Chamberlain, Madison Thornton and Maddie Neale.

The Trojans end their season with a 9-8 record, one of their best in recent years.

Oceanside, now 15-2 will play the winner of Wednesday's prelim game between Mdeomak Valley and Presque Isle
