MDI Softball Nipped By Bucksport

The MDI Trojan's Softball Team was nipped by the Bucksport Golden Bucks 2-1 on Thursday, May 23rd in Bucksport. Bucksport plated 2 in the bottom of the 1st inning and MDI scored 1 in the top of the 5th inning. The Trojans left 6 on base including 2 on 3rd base in the game.

Lindsey McEachern pitched a complete game for MDI, allowing 4 hits, and striking out 12 while walking 3. Only 1 of the 2 runs was earned.

Katelin Saunders pitched a complete game for Bucksport, earning the win. She allowed 5 hits, 1 earned run and struck out 10 while walking 1.

For MDI Lindsey McEachern batting leadoff was 2-3 with 2 singles. . Hannah Chamberlain, Lilly Cook and Maddy Neal all had doubles. Neal had a stolen base.

For Bucksport Madysen Robichaud had a double, while Emily Hunt, Makayla Tripp, and Makenzie Smith all had singles. Hunt and Katelin Saunders each had a stolen base.

MDI is now 4-7 and will play host to Caribou in a doubleheader on Saturday, May 27th at 12 Noon and 2 PM.

Bucksport is undefeated with a 12-0 record and plays host to Orono on Thursday, May 25th at 3:30 PM.
