The MDI Softball Team beat Washington Academy on Thursday, May 24th in Bar Harbor by the score of 18-3 in a mercy rule shortened 5 inning game. The Trojans improved to 9-5 with 2 games remaining in the regular season.

On Thursday the Trojans banged out 10 hits. Maddie Neale was 3-4 with a double. Lindsey McEachern was 2-2 with 2 walks. Hannah Chamberlain and Madison Thornton each had a double. Ruby Brown, Emily York and Hannah Hanscom each singled. McEachern swiped 2 bases and Neal and Thornton each stole a base

In the circle Emily York pitched for MDI. She allowed 5 hits, and 3 runs, 1 of which was earned. She struck out 2 and walked 3.

For Washington Academy Kylie Atkinson pitched 3 innings allowing 7 hits, and 6 runs, 4 of which were earned. She struck out a batter. Rachel St. Louis pitched the 4th inning allowing 12 runs, striking out 2 and walking 6. She gave up 3 hits.

For the Raiders Hannah Atcherson was 2-2 with a double, driving in 2 runs. Teeya Harmon, Daphne Foss and Rachel St. Louis each singled.

MDI will play host to Old Town on Friday, May 25th at 4:30 PM on Senior Recognition Day. (Note- This game was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 26th at 12 Noon but has been moved to Friday, May 25th.). Then, they will finish the season at Ellsworth on Tuesday, May 29th at 4 PM.

Washington Academy, 3-11 has 2 games remaining. They play host to Foxroft Academy Saturday, May 26th at 12 Noon and then conclude the season against Narraguagus on Wednesday, May 30th at 4 PM.
