MDI Softball Beats Sumner 9-3 in Exhibition Game Wednesday

The MDI Softball Team beat the Sumner Tigers 9-3 in an exhibition game Wednesday, April 10th in Bar Harbor.

Taylor Grant pitched a complete game for the Trojans, allowing 2 hits and 3 runs, all unearned. She struck out 13 and walked 4.

MDI banged out 10 hits.

Allibeth Horner, Taylor Grant, and Grace Horner, the 1-2-3 batters each had 2 hits, with Allibeth Horner and Taylor Grant each smacking a double.

Mollie Gray, Hannah Lawson, Rylee Reece and Grace Sinclair all singled.

Jenna Colby was in the circle for the Tigers. She struck out 6 and walked 3.

Clara Christiansen and Taylor Newenham each singled for the Tigers.

MDI is scheduled to play Belfast on Thurday, April 11th in another exhibition game, weather permitting.

The High School Player of the Week resumes on Monday, April 15th. Nominees for the week April 15-20th should be emailed to chris.popper@townsquaremedia.com by Sunday night, April 21st. Voting will take place Monday April 22nd - Thursday April 25th with the winner being announced on April 26th.
