MDI Softball Beats John Bapst 8-2
The MDI Softball Team beat John Bapst 8-2 at Husson University on Memorial Day, May 27th.
Lindsey McEachern was the winning pitcher for the Trojans, throwing a complete game. She allowed 5 hits, striking out 11 and walked just 1 Crusader batter.
John Bapst took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st, but MDI scored 2 in the 3rd inning, 3 in the 5th and 2 more insurance runs in the 6th inning. Both teams scored a run in the 87th.
Maddie Neale led the Trojan hitters, going 3-5. Lindsey McEachern, Lily Cook and Olivia Gray each had 2 hits. Mackenzie Dyer and Leah Carroll each had a single. McEachern and Neal each swiped a bag.
Morgan Vidal pitched the 1st 5 innings for the Crusaders, allowing 8 hits and 7 runs. She struck out 2 and walked 1.
Jasmine McCullough had 2 hits for John Bapst. Hallie Rockress, Lacey Scanlon each had a single.
MDI is now 8-7 and will play host to Ellsworth on Wednesday, May 29th at 4:30 on Senior Recognition Day. It will be the final regular season home game for Hannah Chamberlain, Lily Cook, Mackenzie Dyer and Lindsey McEachern.
John Bapst is 4-11 and will host Foxcroft Academy on Tuesday, May 28th at 4:30 at Husson University.
