MDI Softball Beats John Bapst 10-1

The MDI Trojans Softball Team beat the John Bapst Crusaders 10-1 on Wednesday, May 17th at Husson University.

The Trojans scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning, 1 in the 6th inning and 6 in the top of the 7th inning. John Bapst scored their lone run in the bottom of the 4th inning.

MDI's Lindsey McEachern pitched a complete game for the win. She allowed 4 hits, struck out 8 and walked 2. The run that John Bapst scored was unearned.

Gabrielle Gonzales pitched a complete game for the Crusaders, allowing 6 hits, walking 6 and striking out 14. She gave up 10 runs, 5 of which were earned.

For MDI Hannah Chamberlain had 2 doubles, Emily York had a double and single and Madison Neal and Natasha Olearcek each had a single

For John Bapst Madison Higgins had a double, Kayla Massey had a triple and Sarah Dalton and Hallie Rockress each had a single.

The Trojans are now 4-6 and will play at Bucksport on Tuesday, May 23rd at 4:30 PM.

John Bapst is now 5-7 and will play host to Foxcroft Academy on Friday, May 19th at 4:30 PM.
