MDI Rallies Late Beats Presque Isle 48-42 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Trojans led 3-0 to start the game. They never led again until Brett Duley scored a 3-pointer with just under 2 minutes left in the game to give MDI a 45-42 lead. The Trojans then went 3-7 from the free throw line while holding Presque Isle scoreless and MDI beat Presque Isle 48-42 on Friday, December 28th in Bar Harbor.

Presque Isle jumped out to a 17-7 lead in the 1st Quarter. Caleb Wheaton had 8 points for Presque Isle with 2 3's. Jonah Hudson had 5 points with a 3-pointer and Carter Rice and Trace Cyr each had 2 points for the Wildcats. For MDI Drew Shea had a 3-pointer, and Charlie Parker and Derek Collin each had 2 points.

In the 2nd Quarter MDI outscored Presque Isle 11-10 to cut Presque Isle's lead to 9 points at the end of the 1st Half 27-18. For MDI Collin had 4 points, Shea another 3-pointer and Brett Duley and Erik Merchant 2 points each. For the Wildcasts Cyr, Jason Dumais, Hudson, Wheaton and Rice each had 2 points.

In the 3rd Quarter MDI cut the lead to 1 point, 32-31 outscoring Presque Isle 13-5. Eli Parady had 5 points for MDI, Merchant and Parker each had a 3-pointer and Shea 2 points. For Presque Isle Wheaton had a 3-pointer and Cyr 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Steven Pierce came off the bench and was a sparkplug for the Trojans. He scored 3 points on a 3-pointer. Duley had 4 points including a 3-pointer, Parady and Collin 4 points each and Shea 2 more points. For Presque Isle Hudson and Dumais had 4 points each and Rice 2 points.

MDI was led by Derek Collin and Drew Shea with 10 points each. Eli Parady had 9 points. MDI was 4-8 from the free throw line.

Presque Isle was led by Caleb Wheaton with a game high 13 points and Jonah Hudson had 11 points. The Wildcats were 2-4 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 6-1 and will play at Oceanside on Friday, January 4th at 6:30PM in a game broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Presque Isle, now 3-3 plays host to Old Town on Monday, December 31st at 3:30PM
