MDI Nurses and Maine State Nurses Association to Host Town Meeting Sunday March 30

Nurses from MDI Hospital in conjunction with the Maine State Nurses Association will be holding a Town Meeting on Sunday, March 30th at 4 p.m. at the MDI YWCA on Mount Desert Street in Bar Harbor.

This Town Meeting was planned prior to Thursday's announcement of the Labor and Delivery Unit closing on July 1st at MDI Hospital. MDI Hospital is planning a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday April 3rd at the Jesup Memorial Library in Bar Harbor.

According to the online flyer

"With obstetrics departments closing around our state, now is the time to strengthen our hospital's OB department, not weaken it. Our community can have an impact to keep our hospital function for all of our residents. Please come to have your concerns and your voice heard on this important issue."
