MDI JV Girls Rally to Beat Sumner 36-21 [STATS]

Trailing 17-14 at the end of the 1st Half, the MDI JV Girls Basketball Team went on a 15-2 run in the 3rd Quarter en route to a 36-21 win at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor on Saturday afternoon, February 6th.

The Tigers jumped out to a 11-4 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Clara Christiansen had 9 points including a 3 pointer while Brooklyn Newenham had 2 points for Sumner. For MDI Emma Simard and Soren Hopkins-Goff each had a basket.

In the 2nd Quarter MDI outscored Sumner 10-6 to cut Sumner's lead to 17-14 at the end of the 1st Half. Simard and Brooke Goff-Perrault each had 4 points for the Trojans while Hopkins-Goff had a basket. For Sumner Christainsen, Taya Worcester and Jenna Colby each had 2 points.

In the 3rd Quarter the MDI JV Girls outscored Sumner 15-2. Mallory Dunbar had 5 points for the Trojans with a 3-pointer. Goff-Perrault had 5 points, going 3-5 from the free throw line. Alexsandra Hanley had 3 points, and Maya Watson had 2 points. Clara Christiansen had Sumner's lone 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Maya Watson had a 3-pointer, and Sharyn Lipski and Alexsandra Hanley had 2 points each for the Trojans. Christiansen was 2-2 from the free throw line for Sumner.

MDI was led by Brooke Goff-Perrault with 9 points and Emma Simard had 6 points. The Trojans were 4-9 from the free throw line

Sumner was led by Clara Christiansen with a game high 15 points. The Tigers were 2-3 from the free throw line.

The MDI Girls are back in action at Ellsworth on Monday, February 8th with the game tipping off at 4:30. The game will be live-streamed on the Ellsworth High School You Tube Channel (free)
