MDI Hospital’s Community Celebration and Patient Care Statistics [PHOTOS]

MDI Hospital celebrated the 2024 Fiscal Year with the community at the Bar Harbor Club on September 11th.

It's been a busy year. Consider these Patient Care Statistics

MDI Hospital and Health Centers has 539 employees, 85 of whom are nurses
There were 66,899 outpatient health center visits
There were 6,868 visits to the Emergency Room
There were 799 Discharges
There were 123,315 lab tests
The Radiology Department consisting of Radiology, CT Scan, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and MRI took 17,130 images
The Breast Care Center performed 4,981 mammograms
There were 54 births
There were 1,656 surgeries
84 volunteers gave 1,469.75 volunteer hours
There were 104 Swing Bed Admissions with 1,029 patient days, with the Swing Bed Average stay lasting 9.89 days.
There were 690 Acute Care Admissions with 3,297 patient days with the average Acute Care stay lasting 4.78 days.

They also recognized the 2024 Ursula E.J. Lee and Dr. Leung Lee Memorial Award for Nursing Excellence Award recipients

Good Shepherd Food Bank was recognized as the Heathcare Partner of the Year.

Darron Collins, the President of College of the Atlantic was recognized as the Community Partner of the Year.

Kebo Valley Golf Club and Peiter DeVos were recognized as the Business Partner of the Year.

Natalee Spencer was recognized as the MDI Hospital Employee of the Year and Lauren Shirley was recognized as the Birch Bay Village Employee of the Year.

Alberta Willey and Mary Dow were recognized as the MDI Hospital Volunteers of the Year and Maribeth Payne was recognized as the Birch Bay Village Volunteer of the Year.
