MDI High School Announces Class of 2024-25 Hall of Fame Inductees
MDI High School Athletic Director Bunky Dow announced the 6 members of the Class of 2024-25 Hall of Fame
Set to be inducted are
- Ben Walls - Class of 2013. Ben was a 3-sport athlete playing Golf, Basketball and Baseball
- Melissa (Gott) Carter - Class of 2001 - Melissa was a 3-sport athlete playing Soccer, Basketball and Softball. She scored over 1000 points in Basketball
- Ralph Hodgdon - Class of 1989 - Ralph was a 3-sport athlete playing Soccer, Basketball and Baseball
- Brian Murphy - Class of 1974 (Posthumous) - Brian was a 3 sport athlete competing in Cross Country, Basketball and Outdoor Track. He led the Cross Country Team to their 1st State Championship
- Leila Johnston - Class of 2015 - Leila was the 2014 Girl's Swimmer of the Year as selected by the Maine Sunday Telegram and helped lead the Swim and Dive team to the State Class B State Championship. She was also on the tennis team and swam at Florida State University.
MDI High School created a new category, Friends of MDI Athletics and I (Chris Popper) am honored to be the inaugural inductee into the Hall of Fame in this category for the 18 plus years of broadcasting and covering MDI Athletics on the radio and web.
The induction ceremony is being planned for a day in January and further information will be forthcoming.
