MDI Green JV Saves Best for 4th Quarter Beat Hampden 1st Team 30-22 [STATS/RECAP/PHOTOS]

The MDI Green JV Team was down 20-16 entering the 4th Quarter on Saturday afternoon, February 13th and then outscored the Hampden Academy Boys 1st Team 14-2 to win 30-22 in Bar Harbor.

Hampden Academy led 8-7 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Gavin Stewart, Lucien Lane, Nick Bennett and Brock Deane all scored a basket for the Broncos. For MDI Sam Sinclair had a 3 pointer, Jameson Weir a basket and Matt Levesque was 2-2 from the free throw line.

In the 2nd Quarter, Hampden Academy increased their lead, outscoring MDI 7-4 to take a 15-11 lead at the end of the 1st Half. William Kelley, Garrett McLeod and Brock Deane each scored a basket while Harrison Shain was 1-2 from the free throw line. For MDI Jack Hodgdon and Wade Null each chipped in 2 points.

It was 20-16 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Garrett McLeod had a 3-pointer and Nick Bennett each had a basket for Hampden Academy. For MDI Joey Wellman-Clouse sank a basket and the free throw after being fouled. Evan Ankrom sank a basket.

In the 4th Quarter Jack Hodgdon went on fire for MDI scoring 10 points. Evan Ankrom sank a basket and the free throw after being fouled for 3 points and Harley Henderson was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Hampden Academy Brock Deane scored their lone 2 points.

MDI was led by Jack Hodgdon with 12 points. The Trojans were 5-13 from the free throw line.

Hampden Academy was led by Brock Deane with 6 points.

MDI will next play Monday, February 15th against John Bapst at 4:30 p.m. in Bar Harbor. That game will be broadcast the MDI High School NFHS Channel
