MDI Girls Too Much For Sumner Win 52-15 [STATS]

The MDI Girls Varsity Basketball Team was too much for the Sumner Memorial High School Tigers on Saturday afternoon, February 6th at Bernard Parady Gymnasium. The Trojans won 52-15.

MDI jumped out to a 10-6 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Taber Allen had a 3-pointer for MDI, Leah Carroll had 3 point and Molly Ritter and Abbie Farley each had 2 points. For Sumner, Mia Richardson had 4 points and Brooklyn Newenham had 2 points.

In the 2nd Quarter, MDI outscored Sumner 16-0 to take a 26-6 lead at the end of the 1st half. Leah Carroll had 6 points for MDI and Grace Witham had 4 points. Elena Alderman, Olivia Gray and Bella Brown each chipped in with a basket for the Trojans.

In the 3rd Quarter MDI outscored Sumner 10-7 to take a 36-13 lead at the end of the 3rd Quaarter. Olivia Gray had a 3-pointer, Abbie Farley had 3 points and Molly Ritter and Mollie Gray each had 2 points. For Sumner, Brianna Flaherty hit a 3-pointer, and Makayla Bunker and Mia Richards each had 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter MDI outscored Sumner 16-2. Molly Ritter, Grace Witham and Elizabeth Jones each had 4 points for MDI. Sophia Brophy was 2-2 from the free throw line and Leah Carroll added a bucket. Mia Richardson had Sumner's lone points.

MDI was led by Leah Carroll with 11 points while Molly Ritter and Grace Witham each had 8 points. The Trojans were 4-10 from the free throw line.

Sumner was led by Mia Richardson with 8 points. The Tigers didn't go to the free throw line.
