The MDI Girls Soccer Team's storybook playoff run ended on Wednesday night, November 3rd when they fell to the #1 seeded Hermon Hawks, 6-0 in the Class B Northern Maine Finals, at Hampden Academy.

MDI which was the #10 seed, had advanced to the finals by upsetting #7 Belfast, 3-0, #2 Old Town 1-0 and finally #3 Ellsworth 1-0. But the "revenge tour" ended against the Hawks.

Hermon outshot MDI 13-4 in the 1st Half, and had 2 corners to MDI's 0

In the 2nd Half, Lyndsie Red score  of the Hawk's goals, the 1st coming with just 35 seconds elapsed, and then the 2nd with 34:02 remaining.

In the 2nd Half Hermon outshot MDI 11-1. For the game Hermon outshot MDI 24-5.

Hermon is unscored upon in the playoffs, having beaten Nokomis in the quarterfinals 10-0, Oceanside in the semifinals 6-0 and now MDI 6-0 in the finals, for a 22-0 goal differential

Hermon will play Cape Elizabeth who defeated Yarmouth in the  Class B South Championship in the State game on Saturday, November 6th at 3 p.m. at Massabesic High School.

Hermon has been dominant since 2010 but have yet to win a State Championship

The MDI Girls Soccer Team won the Sportsmanship Banner which will hang in Bernard Parady Gymnasium.
