MDI Girls Soccer Falls to Bucksport 3-1

The MDI Girls Soccer Team fell to Bucksport 3-1 in the 1st game of the season, at Alumni Field in Bar Harbor on Thursday, October 1st.

MDI took a 1-0 lead with 29:13 remaining in the 1st Half when Lelia Weir blasted a shot from outside the box that hit the right post and caromed in past Bucksport goalkeeper Tori Watkins.

The 1st Half ended with the Trojans up 1-0 with MDI outshooting Bucksport 9-4

The score remained 1-0 until Natasha Monreal scored for Bucksport, knotting the score at 1-1 with 24:55 remaining in the 2nd Half.

Bucksport took the lead minutes later when Addie Morrison scored, with 22:31 remaining.

Bucksport added an insurance goal with 17:16 left, when Johanna Stiles scored.

Bucksport outshot MDI 11-7 in the 2nd Half

MDI will play host to Hampden Academy on Monday, October 5th at 6 p.m.
