MDI Girls Remain Unbeaten Beat Presque Isle 67-36 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Girls Basketball Team beat the Presque Isle Wildcats on Friday, December 28th to remain unbeaten on the season. The Trojans beat the Wildcats 67-36 in Bar Harbor.

MDI jumped out to a 19-12 lead in the 1st Quarter. Hannah Chamberlain had 7 points in the 1st Quarter for MDI, including a 3-pointer. Julia Watras and Maddy Candage each had 4 points and Elizabeth Jones had 2 points. For Presque Isle Madison Jandreau had 6 points on 2 3's, Maggie Castonguay had a 3-pointer and Madison Michaud had 3 points.

In the 2nd Quarter MDI outscored Presque Isle16-6 to take a 35-18 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Watras had 7 points for MDI and Jones had 3 points. Candage, Olivia Gray and Hannah Chamberlain each had 2 points. For Presque Isle Jeandreau had a 3 pointer, Rebecca Rider 2 points and Castonguay was 1-4 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter MDI extended their lead to 24 points, outscoring Presque Isle to18-11, to take a 53-29 lead. Chamberlain had 8 points with 2 3's, Candage 5 points, Gray a 3-pointer and Watras 2 points. For Presque Isle Faith Sjoberg had 2 3's for 6 points, Castonguay and Alana Legassie each had 2 points and Molly Kingsbury was 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 4th Quarter, MDI outscored the Wildcats 14-7. The Trojans were led by Clarito and Leah Carroll each with 4 points, and Candage, Gray and Cassie Craig each had 2 points. For the Wildcats Kingsbury had 3 points, and Anna Trombley and Rhylee Kinney each had 2 points.

MDI was led by Hannah Chamberlain with a game high 17 points and Julia Watras and Maddy Candage each had 13 points. The Trojans were 5-10 from the free throw line.

Presque Isle was led by Madison Jandreau with 9 points while Faith Sjoberg and Maggie Castonguay each had 6 points. The Wildcats were 4-13 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 7-0 and is off until next Saturday, January 5th when they will play host to Oceanside at 3:30PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Presque Isle is 2-3 and plays host to Old Town on Monday, December 31st at 2PM.
