MDI Girls Hang On to Beat John Bapst 54-44 [STATS]

The MDI Girls Basketball Team defeated the John Bapst Crusaders 54-44 Thursday night, February 4th at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor.

The Trojans jumped out to a 16-8 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter and led 32-19 at the end of the 1st Half. The Trojans increased their lead to 18 points at the end of the 3rd Quarter 47-29. But the Crusaders outscored MDI 15-7 in the 4th Quarter to make it close.

MDI was led by Emily Carter and Olivia Gray each with 11 points. The Trojans drained 4 3-pointers, with Gray sinking 2, and Carter and Elena Alderman 1 each. MDI was 6-15 from the free throw line.

John Bapst was led by Kate Harriman with a game high 15 points. Jamie McQuarrie had 12 points. The Crusaders had 4 3-pointers with McQuarrie having 3 3-pointers and Lacey Scanlon 1 3-pointer. John Bapst was 6-15 from the free throw line.

MDI will play host to Sumner Memorial High School on Saturday, February 6th with the tip-off at 1:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
