MDI Girls Fall to Hermon 60-41[PHOTOS]
The MDI Girls Basketball Team fell to the Hermon Hawks 60-41 on Monday, February 3rd in their last road game of the regular season.
Hermon led 12-9 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Megan Tracy, and Paige Plissey each had 4 points for the Hawks while Maddie Lebel and Grace Page had 2 points each. For MDI Leah Carroll had 5 points with a 3-pointer and Rachelle Swanson and Elizabeth Jones each had 2 points.
MDI outscored Hermon 5-4 in the 2nd Quarter, to cut Hermon's lead to 16-14 at the end of the 1st Half. Carroll had her 2nd 3-pointer of the night and Jones had 2 points. For Hermon Lebel and Tracy each had 2 points.
Hermon blew the game open in the 3rd Quarter, outscoring MDI 20-7 to take a 36-21 lead after the end of the 3rd Quarter. For Hermon Page had 6 points, Tracy 4 points and Paige Plissey and Maddie Lebel each had a 3-pointer. Charlotte Caron and Elizabeth Wyman each had 2 points. For MDI Carroll had 4 points, Jones 2 points and Emily Carter was 1-3 from the free throw line.
In the 4th Quarter Hermon went 16-24 from the free throw line. Plissey had 10 points, Lebel 5 points, Tracy 4 points, Page and Caron 2 points each and Sydney Gallop 1 point. For MDI Jones had 8 points, Carroll 5 points with her 3rd 3-pointer of the night. Abbie Farley drained a 3-pointer. Olivia Joyce was 2-2 from the free throw line and Olivia Gray and Elena Alderman were each 1-2 from the free throw line.
MDI was led by Leah Carroll with 17 points and Elizabeth Jones had 14 points. The Trojans were 11-15 from the free throw line.
Hermon was led by Paige Plissey with 17 points. Megan Tracy had 14 points and Maddie Lebel had 12 points. The Hawks were 20-28 from the free throw line.
MDI is 10-7 with 1 game remaining at home against Ellsworth on Wednesday, February 5th. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA , on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device. Tip-off at 7 with the pregame starting at 6:30
Hermon is 16-1 with their final regular season game at home on Wednesday, February 5th against John Bapst at 7 p.m.
