MDI Girls Fall to Hermon 49-40 in PVC Class B Pod Semifinals [STATS/RECAP]

The MDI Girls Basketball Team fell to the Hermon Haws 49-40 in the PVC Class B Pod semifinals on Friday, March 5th.

Hermon jumped out to a 10-7 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Sydney Gallop had a 3-pointer, Jade Leeman had 3 points and Allie Cameron and Meg Tracy each had a bucket for the Hawks. For MDI Elena Alderman had 4 points, Leah Carroll 2 and Emily Carter was 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 2nd Quarter Hermon outscored MDI 15-10 to take a 27-17 lead at the end of the 1st half. Jade Leeman had 7 points for Hermon, while Maddie Lebel, Meg Tracy and Charrlotte Cameron each added a basket while Sydney Gallop was 2-2 from the free throw line. For MDI Mollie Gray had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Olivia Gray had a 3-pointer and Elizabeth Jones 2 points.

Hermon increased their lead to 37-28 at the end of the 3rd Quarter outscoring MDI 12-11. Jade Leeman had 7 points with a 3-pointer. Faith Coombs had a 3-pointer and Meg Tracy was 2-2 from the free throw line. For MDI Molli Gray had 4 points, Leah Carroll had 4 points going 2-2 from the free throw line, Elizabeth Jones 2 points and Emily Carter was 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 4th Quarter Grace Witham had 4 points for MDI, Emily Carter a 3-pointer, Leah Carroll and Elizabeth Jones each had 2 points while Mollie Gray was 1-4 from the free throw line. For Hermon, Charlotte Caron had 7 points, going 3-3 from the free throw line. Jade Leeman was 2-3, Meg Tracy was 2-4 and Allie Cameron was 1-2 from the free throw line as MDI was forced to foul.

MDI was led by Mollie Gray with 10 points while Leah Carroll had 8 points. The Trojans were 5-10 from the free throw line.

Hermon was led by Jade Leeman with a game high 19 points while Charlotte Caron had 9 points. Hermon was 16-24 from the free throw line.

Hermon will now play Old Town in the PVC Class B Pod Playoffs. Old Town defeated Ellsworth in the semifinals.
