MDI Girls Dominate Orono 47-13 [Box Score/Recap/Photos]

The MDI Girls Basketball Team dominated the Orono Red Riots, 47-13 on Thursday, February 1st in Bar Harbor. The Trojans held the Red Riots to just 7 total points in the 2nd-4th Quarters.

MDI jumped out to a 16-6 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Julia Watras had 7 points for MDI with a 3-pointer. Maddy Candage had 6 points and Hannah Chamberlain had a 3-pointer.

In the 2nd Quarter the Red Riots scored just 1 point, when Isabella Anderson sank 1-2 free throws coming with 2:40 remaining in the 1st Half. For MDI Hannah Chamberlain had 2 3-pointers. Candage had 3 points, Watras 2 points and Maddy Good was 1-2 from the free thrown line. MDI led 28-7 at the end of the 1st Half.

In the 3rd Quarter MDI extended their lead to 28 points, 39-11. Orono didn't score their 1st points of the quarter until 3:27 remaining, and Henderson scored the Red Riot's 4 points. For MDI Maddy Good had 5 points, Watras 4 points and Candage 2 points.

In the final quarter, Chamberlain drained her 4th 3-pointer, Rachelle Swanson 3 points and Alahana Mild 2 points for the Trojans. Orono's 2 points came from Camryn Brown from the free throw line.

MDI had 3 players in double figures, Julia Watras with 13 points, Hannah Chamberlain with 12 points and Maddy Candage with 11 points. MDI was 4-8 from the free throw line.

Orono was led by Izzy Baker with 6 points.

MDI now 12-4 plays at Foxcroft Academy on Friday, February 2nd at 5:30 PM
