MDI Girls Beat Houlton 52-25 [STATS]

The MDI Girl's Basketball Team met at the high school before sunrise on Saturday morning, February 3rd and left at 7 a.m. to head up to Houlton. The bus ride was quiet up, but noisy coming home, as the Trojans beat Houlton 52-25. In the JV game MDI beat Houlton 52-46.

MDI jumped out to a 13-2 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, with Mollie Gray hitting a 3-point shot just over midcourt with the buzzer sounding.

In the 2nd Quarter the Trojans outscored Houlton 18-8 to take a 31-10 halftime lead. The Trojans led 44-14 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

MDI had 3 players in double figures. Lexi Tozier led the way with 14 points. Mollie Gray and Sophia Brophy each had 11 points. Mollie Gray had 2 3-pointers, with Tozier and Lily Norwood each sinking a 3-pointer. MDI was 6-11 from the free throw line.

Houlton was led by Kaitlyn Kenney and Tori Ervin with 6 points each. Kenney had the Shiretowners lone 3-pointer. Houlton was 8-20 from the free throw line.

Houlton is now 7-10 with 1 game remaining in the regular season. They play at Old Town on Wednesday, February 7th at 7 p.m.

MDI is now 12-5. They will host Ellsworth on Senior Recognition Night at Bernard Parady Gymnasium on Tuesday, February 6th at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
