MDI Girls Beat Foxcroft Academy 48-34 [PHOTOS/STATS]

The MDI Girls Basketball Team rebounded from a tough-loss at Old Town on Monday, beating the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 48-34 in Dover Foxcroft on Wednesday, January 8th.

The Trojans used a tough full court man-to-man defense to cause plenty of turnovers as Foxcroft Academy had difficulty solving MDI's press. The Trojans came out firing leading 18-7 at the end of the 1st Quarter. MDI led 30-14 at the end of the 1st Half and 41-25 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

MDI was led by Lexi Tozier with 18 points. Ella Watson had 14 points including 2 3-pointers. Blake Thieken had 6 points, all in the paint, all in the 2nd Quarter. Lilli Hanf and Calleigh Trenholm each had a 3-pointer. The Trojans were10-14 from the free throw line, including going 6-8 in the 4th Quarter.

Foxcroft Academy was led by Alli Cook who had 17 points including 4 3-pointers. Madyson Kimball had 7 points with a 3-pointer. Addie Day had a 3-pointer. The Ponies were 4-8 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 6-2. They will play at the Cross Insurance Center on Friday, January 10th at 8 p.m. against the John Bapst Crusaders. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device, with the pregame starting at 7:45 p.m.

Foxcroft Academy is now 3-6. They will host Caribou on Saturday, January 11th at 1:30 p.m.
