MDI Girls Basketball Triumphs Over Belfast Lions With 58-27 Win

The MDI Girl's Basketball Team beat the Belfast Lions 58-27 on Tuesday, December 9th in Belfast.

MDI raced out to 19-7 in the 1st Quarter as Ella Watson scored 8 points and Lily Norwood and Lilli Hanf each sank 3-pointers. The Trojans led 28-13 at the Half and then put the game away in the 3rd Quarter outscoring Belfast 22-9

In the 3rd Quarter Lily Norwood had 10 points with 2 3-pointers, and sister Avery Norwood also had a 3-pointer.

MDI was led by Lily Norwood with 16 point s and Ella Watson with 12 points. The Trojans were deadly beyond the 3-point arc, sinking 10 3-pointers. Lily Norwood had 4 3's, Avery Norwood and Lilli Hanf each had 2 3's and Cate Brown and Calleigh Trenholm each drained a 3-pointer. MDI was 2-8 from the free throw line.

Belfast was led by Hope Reynolds who had 8 points. The Lions were 7-14 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 2-0. They will play at Bangor against the Rams on Thursday, December 11th at 6:30 p.m.

Belfast is 0-2 They will play at Hermon on Thursday December 11th at 6:30 p.m.
